We're Power Digital — an Australian digital agency that works closely with small business owners, particularly in the Vietnamese and other migrant business communities in Sydney and Melbourne.

We saw the same story over and over: hardworking café owners, retailers, and tradies paying $150–$200 a month for software they barely understood, couldn't fully use, and couldn't escape.

So we built SMECentral — the 20% of features that 80% of small businesses actually need, packaged into one affordable, owned platform.

Why we built this

The problem we couldn't ignore.

In 2025, we were helping a Vietnamese café owner in Footscray set up their accounting. They were paying $78/month for accounting software, $50/month for rostering, and another $60/month for payroll software. $188/month. $2,256 a year.

And they still had to call their accountant every quarter because none of the tools gave them a clear profit and loss picture. They were drowning in software.

We decided to build one platform that does what all three do — for a price you pay once.

SMECentral focuses on exactly what Australian small businesses need: proper invoicing with GST, expense tracking, a clear P&L, compliant payroll with STP Phase 2, and rostering that connects directly to payroll. Nothing more, nothing less.

The annual maintenance fee ($390/year) keeps everything compliant as ATO rules, super rates, and award rates change. But the software itself? You own it.
